Did you notice the kissing balls that went up in downtown Amesbury right after Thanksgiving? This is all a part of the Beautification of Amesbury initiative, funded in part by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce’s charitable foundation and proceeds from the Chamber’s Annual Block Party in June on Main Street.
Contributing to the effort to keep Amesbury beautiful are the many people and businesses who have adopted a lamppost or bench in the downtown area, like Fritz Deguglielmo, C.P.A. Only adopted lampposts have hanging kissing balls in winter and flower baskets in the summer.
If you are interested in adopting one of your own (forever) with a one-time tax-deductible donation, please email [email protected]. Many are still available.
We also want to acknowledge and thank the Sherrill family for their help hanging the kissing balls every year! Pictured here are Juliann and her father Matt Sherrill. We greatly appreciate you taking an entire day to dress Amesbury up for the holidays! Now, if only someone would adopt that available lamppost they are standing with in the Upper Millyard!
