The Amesbury Sports Park invites you to enter your favorite photos in their Amesbury Sports Park Photo Contest.

Now through September 30th enter your favorite photos from the Amesbury Sports Park in one of these categories:  Corporate and Social Parties, Sports, OGO/H2OGO, Summer Tubing, Snow Tubing or Special Events.

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and/or unique character of the Amesbury Sports Park.

Winning photographs, along with the photographer's name and information, will be posted on the Amesbury Sports Park website and may be used in advertising and marketing campaigns.  One winner from each category will receive a certificate valid for 2 hours of summer tubing and an OGO ride or 3 hours of snow tubing.  The grand prize winner will receive four certificates valid for 2 hours of summer tubing or an OGO ride or 3 hours of snow tubing.

Unity on the River invites you to join them in the annual World Day of Prayer vigil beginning on Wednesday, September 8th at 7 p.m. and continuing until Thursday, September 9th at 7 p.m.

Activities will begin with a payer service, followed by the vigil.  Participants can silently walk an indoor labyrinth, hear local musicians and submit prayer requests.

The Bartlett Museum will be hosting a recycling day on Saturday, September 11th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Bartlett Museum parking lot, 270 Main Street.

For a small fee, residents can drop off their electronics and appliances and help raise funds for the Bartlett Museum.  Among the items accepted are:  computers/monitors, VHS/DVD players, stereos, radios, small engines, air conditioners, exercise equipment, dishwashers, stoves, washers/dryers, water heaters, microwaves and televisions.
