MUSIC IN THE MILLYARD Have a rockin’ summer enjoying live music at our Battle of the Country Bands on Saturday nights in June and July. These shows are free and open to the public. Bring your blanket or chair and enjoy built-in seating at the Al Capp Amphitheater in the Millyard. Don’t forget your take out from one of our many incredible restaurants. Come join us for a fun afternoon of painting a “Sailboat” on canvas, while enjoying a glass of wine. Part of the proceeds will go to research and patient care on behalf of the American Cancer Society. To learn more about Amesbury’s Relay for Life happening on June 24th, go to the Relay for Life website or Facbook.com/AmesburyRelay. Laura Corcoran is this year’s Co-Chair. The June 24th event is open to the public and will offer many activities and fun events.

The Friends of the Amesbury Council on Aging is hosting the 2nd Annual Chowder Fest on Monday, June 5th from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. The Chowder Fest is a fundraiser to benefit the Friends of the Council on Aging. The purpose of the Friends of the Council on Aging is to raise money through contributions and fund-raising to provide support for senior programs, services, and activities. Chowder Fest welcomed over 200 chowder-lovers, last year, who turn out and judge some of the best chowder in the area. Located at the Amesbury Senior Community Center, guests purchase their tickets, and explore the different sponsors to vote for the Chowder Champion! It’s an evening full of delicious chowder, live music, and family fun! *Tickets on sale: May 1st at the Amesbury Senior Center*

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and its members are proud to lead the kick-off of Amesbury Days with our Annual Block Party. We’ll have balloons, face painting, and pony rides. Join us under the red and white tents for all of your food favorites, some family entertainment, and of course the dunk tank! The Block Party takes place on the lawn of the Main Street Congregational Church and surrounding area. The Amesbury Days Art Show & Sale on Saturday, June 24th will showcase more than 20 local artists with paintings, illustrations, woodworking, fiber art, and jewelry. We also have the New England Quilt Guild displaying their fine quilts and having a raffle to win a quilt. We have a line-up of local authors, poets, and historians giving short talks throughout the day. Outdoors, the Carriage Museum will run hands-on locomotion activities for all ages from 9am to noon. We also have a fabulous band: North Shore Junction for your entertainment. Finally, we have a large raffle with exhibiting artists’ donations and more chairs by the AHS Chair-ity fundraiser.
