Learn how Whittier lived in this home with his mother, sister and aunt, writing editorials and poems, and even risking his life towards the cause of abolishing slavery before and during the Civil War. Whittier’s abolitionist views are especially relevant in this time of divisiveness in our country. Tours are $6 for Adults, $5 for Seniors and Students (ages 7 through 17), and children under 7 and Veterans are FREE! And $3 for MTA members, with ID card. MUSIC IN THE MILLYARD Have a rockin’ summer enjoying live music at our Battle of the Country Bands on Saturday nights in June and July. These shows are free and open to the public. Bring your blanket or chair and enjoy built-in seating at the Al Capp Amphitheater in the Millyard. Don’t forget your take out from one of our many incredible restaurants. Help us lead the charge towards our first Amesbury Harvest Fair & Country Music Festival happening September 22-24, 2017. Don’t miss this great summer series of concerts! The Bartlett Museum will host the “Auction in the Pines” as part of the Amesbury Days celebration. An afternoon for family fun. Parking is available at the Highland Street baseball field across from High School. (Rain date is Saturday, July 8th.) Bring a chair or blanket. Live Music from 10:00 – 11:30 am. The Auction begins at 11:00 am with Alexander Pooler of the Bartlett Museum as auctioneer. Food venders are available to buy snacks and lunch with choices from Hodgies Ice Cream and Charlie LaBella Food Cart. For the children there will be Face painting, Legos in a tent, a Bubble table and “Renee”. To donate items for auction call Lee-Ann at 978-504-0000. Please no TV’s, monitors, electronic devices, old appliances, furniture, books, stuffed animals, children’s toys or clothing. Zelda Hotaling will present a trunk show of her handmade drums, rattles, dream catchers and more on Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22. She will also lead a wonderful guided meditation, Traveling With Your Spirit Guides and Animals, on Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 pm ($45) and will be available for intuitive bone readings all day Friday and Saturday.
