Movies in the Millyard Schedule

With the support of the Amesbury Cultural Council, the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce has arranged four free, outdoor-movie showings on each Thursday in August. Movies start at 8 p.m. or later, as soon as the light is right. Seating is in the amphitheater; first come, first served.

The theme for this year’s Movies in the Millyard series is “Throwback Thursday,” with the following family-friendly line-up:

August 6: Little Rascals
August 13: ET
August 20: Honey I Shrunk the Kids
August 27: Goonies

Plan now for our Week of Wellness

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and sponsor Anna Jaques Hospital present a Week of Wellness, starting May 15. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy a robust schedule of events, including free indoor/outdoor lively activities, chef talks about healthy eating and other educational workshops, plus special offers from area health-related businesses, such as temporary discounts or special-access passes.

The weekend Farmers Market and Health Fair will provide one-on-one access with dozens of local farmers and health practitioners, the latter of which will exhibit throughout greater downtown Amesbury to educate those interested in a healthier way of living.

A Recap of our Good News Breakfast Salute

For those who missed our Good News Breakfast Salute on Friday, April 10 at Amesbury Flatbread Company, the Daily News of Newburyport nicely recapped the morning’s events and remarks, including this tribute to our fine City from Amesbury Chevrolet’s Brian Fecteau:

“You go to other towns or cities and there is a problem or a roadblock,” Fecteau said. “Every time we went here to the mayor’s office, or to the building inspector, it was always, ‘How can we figure this out?’ It is a team effort.”
